Cell Phone

Yesterday I was handed a cell phone from one of the kids in the church. The fact that kids have cell phones now is something I won't get into, other than saying this, "And we wonder why America is so messed up? We wonder why kids learn nothing in school? We wonder why people don't know have to have face to face conversations anymore?"

As I held the phone I asked,"What is the point of a cell phone?" They said, "Call people, text, play games" (Holding my tounge). I said, "The point of a cell phone is so that you can get a hold of people and people can get a hold of you at any time." That's the idea, so we can be reached where ever we're at. In some cases it's good, in the event of an emergency, you're reachable.

We have a "cell phone" for God, it's called prayer. At any time, no matter where we are, we are able to talk to God and God can talk to us. It's incredible. Some of us ignore it, some of us only use it in emergencies, some of us wish we used it more than we do, and some of us never put it down.

God is always reachable. His cell phone of prayer never goes dead, never gets turned off, and is never without perfect reception. God invites us to call Him at any time for any reason, even if it's just to say, "Hi, how are you today? I just wanted to let you know how much I love you." That is a call He makes to each of us every day, but so often we ignore it.

Prayer is the cell phone to God, call Him anytime.

Peace be with you
