Hair

This week one of the girls decided that she wanted to know how hair points back to God. Jesus said in Matthew 10.28-31, "Do not fear those who kill the body but are unable to kill the soul; but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell. Are not two sparrows sold for a cent? And yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So do not fear; you are more valuable than many sparrows."

We matter to God. God cares about us. As 2012 begins it may be a year that people have higher fear and anxiety. It is the year that the Mayan calendar ends, and due to that many people have thought that the world will end this December. As the world continues to get worse, we live in a reality that terrorist attacks could hit us. And in this Jesus says not to fear.

Matthew 10 contains Jesus telling His disciples about the dangers they will face. How he is sending as sheep into the midst of wolves. How they will face trials and persecution for His sake. But in all of this Jesus says, do not fear. God cares for us, even the hairs on our head are numbered. Do not fear, God cares for us.
