Flavored Water

The Bible tells us in Genesis 1.1 that God created the heavens and the earth in the beginning. In John 1.1-3 we are told that by Him all things were created and without Him nothing was created. Everything that exists points back to God. It may be something that has been twisted by Satan, because he doesn't have the power to create, only to twist and taint, but even then we can still see God's original intent behind it.

Many times we try to take what God has made and improve on it. And I think most of us would agree that we epically fail each time. The one exception may be flavored water. I love water. It can be cool and refreshing, or hot and relaxing. Nothing quenches your thirst like a cool glass of fresh water. But somewhere along the way, someone decided to add some sort of fruit flavoring to water, making one successful improvement on the original.

The flavoring doesn't take away from the refreshment of the beverage, it doesn't leave me still thirsty. But it adds flavor making the water all the more enjoyable.

Flavored water, my favorite is lemon, I think gives us a small view of Heaven. The Bible says in Revelation 21.5a, "And He who sits on the throne said, 'Behold, I am making all things new.'" At the end, God will restore all of creation to what it was meant to be. Everything will be taken from it's current, twisted and fallen, state, into the state of perfection that God originally intended. Everything will be made new and will be restored to how it was meant to be.

For those who believe in Jesus, who have accepted His forgiveness and allowed Him to transform their lives, life will go from plain water to flavored water. It will be even better because it will be as God intended it to be.
