Doctor's card

The bag was missing so we had a random object pulled out of a girl's purse and she pulled out a business card from a doctor.

Matthew 9.11-12, "When the Pharisees saw this, they said to His disciples, 'Why is your Teacher eating with the tax collectors and sinners?' But when Jesus heard this, He said, 'It is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick.'"

Jesus is the sin doctor. He came into the world for the purpose of saving sinners, as Paul said in 1 Timothy 1.15, "It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all."

If we had been righteous we would have no need for the blood of Jesus. Because we aren't righteous we were given the law to set a standard of righteousness so that we could see sin to be sin. But it's a standard that we can never measure up to, we have a model of perfect health, but we're unable to get there. We are stuck in our illness. We need a doctor to heal us. Enter Jesus.

He came to the world to show us how to live. He came to change out thinking, not just modify our behavior. He came to give healing of our sin sickness. In Him is the only way to be healed. Jesus came to save sinners, among whom I am foremost of all. He saved me, and He can save you.
